biology update

so far in biology class we have experimented with different types of bacteria and antibiotics, going around the school swabbing things for the bacteria as well as our own bacteria that is on our own body. for the aquaponics, our levels are getting better for the nitrates going from 160-20.

Magic door

if i had to choose a magical door to go through i would have to go through Narnia's' door most likely because I've watched every single movie made at least three times over and because i love nature and would just fit right in perfectly with all the characters and i would make myself a home in the wilderness just on the other side. i feel like i would always spend my time in narnia and become more indulged in the wild.

The island

If i was on the island with the rest of the boys i would most likely leave them because i have ions more experience than them in survival. which would mean i would not align myself with anyone, and even if i did run into them from time to time i might help them or not.

biology update

so far since our last water checks, our nitrates are still high, our nitrites are getting higher as well. even though we have added plants into the system as well as duck lily directly into the tank with the fish so we can lower our levels and our fish don't die. lets hope for next time the levels in the system balance out.

if i had to pick one of the people i know to be president i would have to choose Kael most likely because of his determination and organization. combined with me as vice-president would be a double front because i'm like awesome and more chill so i could relate to the people better. that's why i would choose Kael for this position.

if you haven't been following the journey, or is new to it, welcome to our (Kael, Katrina's, and Tyrone's) biology aquaponics system. our PH, ammonia, and nitrate levels are leveling back out again, we have our plants growing in the system, and the fish are happy, i hope:) and we are working on a way to keep our fish fed during the weekend so they don't starve. keep following the journey of the kick-butt aquaponic system.

THE SCARIEST BOI IN FICTIONAL GAMES

i'm gonna have to give this one to the boi that never seems to let me down for jump scares, panic attacks, and even real life anxiety. this one goes to the only boi ill ever be afraid of and hes not even real... HEROBRINE. Dude this dude has to be the scariest boi of all scary boi's because he could go anywhere he wants. and when you hear the creepy music start you know you're in for a good one boi. Technological Dysfunctions

There are new types of disorders in this new technologically advanced society, some of which can affect our daily functions. I know for a fact at least 75% of kids in every class that own a cellular device will panic if their device is not near them every second, and they'll be desperate if they lose it.

If i have my phone lost or even taken away for even a long period of time it wouldn't matter, but other people cant stand an hour without there phone, especially because of snap chat and other outlets.

so far everything is going really okay. we had a nitrate spike from 10ppm all the way to 160ppm, and were constantly checking our levels to see how it turns out. our group has also put in 4 plants that we borrowed from someone else until ours are finished germinating and as soon as possible we can put our own plants (lettuce) in the system.

the journey to mars

since the dawn of time, humans have naturally been explorers of distant lands and even continents, but up until about the early 1900 we just started testing the waters of interplanetary travel, and even more recently there has been talk of going to mars. a distant planet in our solar system that about four billion years ago might've been like earth, and us  humans are obviously trying to plot our way there.

qualities that make a good survivor

in order to be a good survivor, you must first be a good person. what i mean by that is if you're a good person, you probably have something to survive for and the will to survive. you would also need some common sense, unless if you're trained like moi. It all depends on the situation as well because you could be a good person in a bad place, or you could be a bad person in a good place and these scenarios can even change how people are or they can manipulate the system. to be a good survivor you really need to be able to use things around yourself as well as the people at your use.<script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

September 23rd 2017

today our tank is up and running and we have started germinating the seeds so we can put them into the system. Our tank is filtering through and we are checking our levels so our fish don't die. after checking our levels it was safe so we put the fish in and now we just have to wait for our plants.

our group has the supplies we need to finish up the building, i had to head down to the shop class to cut holes in our bin, and Kael had brought in the bacteria rocks so we put the system together and we can now start the germination process.

we have a tank that is now cleaned and ready for use, all we need is the tubing and the pump. At home i know i have a bin to use for the trough and after that all we need are the fish and rocks. We are coming along well with the tank too, we seemed to have cleaned it well, and we put water in it.

we are all getting our supplies together and thinking of the building steps of our flow through trough going. Kael has gone and got some supplies from the hardware store, Katrina has been assigned to seeds and Morgan as well. i myself am in charge of the bin the plants sit in.

so far we have our seeds germinated, our system cycling and our fish actually fed. what our next step is, is getting our plants growing and progressing so that we can get marked on it. we ran into a minor problem a couple days ago with the rocks we used, and the rocks wore away and made our system brown but it filtered itself out which is good.

WRITING PROMPT 

if our class was plane wrecked on an island, i'm just going to be honest, with my survival training i would probably leave the group unless someone else had the same amount of experience as me. i would be able to avoid chaos and confusion due to lack of coordination and teamwork. i would take maybe up to two people to help and train.   

IF I WAS IN A MOVIE
if i had to choose a movie to be in like it was reality, id have to choose divergent, a series about a dystopian future were there are faction systems. i would love it because of the action, adventure and the aspect of overcoming a higher power with a team. i would also love the training because i like to push and punish myself.

on my book response i'm doing the book that i have just finished called undercurrent by Paul Blackwell it was a very good read and it kept me hooked with every page i turned, i had read it quite a lot this weekend reading at least 200 pages in one day but had to stop myself. at the very end the book had a clever way of making you stay on a cliff hanger i highly recommend reading this book.

UNDERCURRENT by Paul Blackwell

undercurrent is a great read i'm already 103 pages in and i cant put it down when i'm reading, it is about a boy named callum that falls off a waterfall and wakes back up from a coma realizing that everything he thought has changed, his parents are back together when he remembered that they got divorced, his brother was in an accident that he doesn't remember happening and worst of all, the girl that hes loved for years doesn't even know his last name he even said "willow doesn't remember me?!". this book is a definite read if you haven't already!

my opinion is to definitely read the book and get it recognized for how great it is!

CLIMATE CHANGE IS TRANSFORMING THE WORLDS FOOD SUPPLY
          climate change, without a doubt is affecting global farming efforts needed to "support the global demand for food". with rising carbon dioxide levels and that leading to higher temperatures, it is extremely hard for farmers to work during the day, and the growing problem of pests that couldn't survive in certain areas are now able to survive due to less predators in the area. and without a doubt the rising levels of carbon dioxide are affecting the food we grow on another level, nutritional value. it has been proven that plants grown in higher levels of co2 were reduced in nutritional value. not only will climate change affect food growth but it will also affect the fishing industry, with fish leaving to cooler temperatured waters and leaving the warming coasts.

i have  read a lot of books since i could read, but there have been some bad books and really good books like monument 14 or any of Stephen kings novels. but like the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover because you'll never know if its a good one or not!
